Our partners are comprised of corporations, organizations, and individuals who are committed to the success of our students and District. We invite you to partner with us by providing in-kind programs, services, and targeted resources that contribute to the enhancement of the educational environment and academic achievement of our students.
In order to make your experience as pleasant as possible, we have streamlined the process for onboarding partners for all of our focus areas. All partnerships must align with the District’s strategic plan “Blueprint 2020: Our Strategic Plan for Rebuilding Detroit’s Public Schools.”
Read to students, tutor, provide technical expertise, or display student work
Provide mentoring, character development activities, sponsor contests, support student-led initiatives or student service learning
Offer job shadowing, internships, site visits, support career fairs or career day
Sponsor contests in writing, art, math, science, student-of-the-month or term/year student recognition programs, support academic all-star program, or create student scholarship program
Support Families in Need
Back to school fund drive, afterschool scholarships, or offer dental services
Teacher/Staff Support or Recognition
Invite teachers to in-house training or seminars, provide job shadowing for teachers, provide food/supplies for recognition or training, establish teacher grant program
Support School Administrative or Building Functions
Support school committee work, assist with fundraising, create school publications/communications outreach, assist with school cleanup, enhance the library or school environment, create parent center, etc.
Easy Start Guidelines
- Contact the school or Partnership Office for an initial conversation
- Acquire principal/administrator approval or acquire central office approval
- Complete the partnership application
Our Department will contact you to complete additional steps if necessary.
