Lightweight Innovations for Tomorrow (LIFT) is a program that enhances classroom learning by developing STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) partnerships and activities. The program introduces students to the exciting world of STEM and provides an opportunity for students to participate in national and local STEM activities, with a focus on advanced manufacturing. LIFT will inspire and build the next wave of exceptional talent through robust and enhanced STEM experiences.
- Students will build academic, professional and technical skills that will be valued throughout their career. Students will also be given access to world-class STEM and manufacturing activities.
- Teachers will have access to ready-made, world-class curricular and extra-curricular activities that support lesson plan development.
- Businesses will encourage students to pursue manufacturing careers by providing engaging STEM activities and programs.
The LIFT Investment
Through the LIFT Partnership, DPSCD middle and high school students have access to the MakerMinded platform. MakerMinded, through an online software platform, is creating the next generation of manufacturing leaders by providing students with access to engaging STEM-related activities and programs. Students participate in STEM and manufacturing educational experiences both in and out of the classroom. The program includes a friendly competition between schools. The school that has completed the most activities and programs at the end of the school year will be awarded prizes.
