Dr. Deborah Hunter-Harvill is a high-performing educational executive who believes in 21st Century thinking and practices which will excite all about learning, leading and planning for the future.

Dr. Hunter-Harvill is a teacher, leader, national speaker, and advocate for children and mentor to many. She has expertise in organizational systems, instructional learning, leadership, curriculum development, building teacher capacity, board development, human resources, school reform, special education, non-profit leadership, and finance. She is one of the most diligent turnaround specialists in the country. She has successfully consolidated school districts, and merged elementary and middle schools into one efficient unit in educational districts. Recently, Dr. Hunter-Harvill completed three years in the Michigan area as a Superintendent. She is a former Principal, School Reform Director and Special Education Director. She also taught Language Arts and Special Education. Deborah Hunter-Harvill is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. – Detroit Alumnae Chapter. She recently served as Project Manager for the Delta Teacher Efficacy Initiative through the Delta Research Educational Foundation and has served as Chairman of the National Alliance of Black School Educators Foundation.

Dr. Hunter-Harvill can often be heard around the country as a keynote speaker or panelist at numerous national, state and local conferences on topics such as student achievement, parental involvement, curriculum, high performing schools, strategic planning and continuous improvement. She attended and graduated from the Detroit Public Schools. She is authored and is working diligently to impact student achievement.

Dr. Hunter-Harvill has been honored as a MET Life Community Awardee, Marygrove College Distinguished Alumni, and the 18th President of the National Alliance of Black School Educators and was appointed to the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) Democracy for Public Education Council.

Dr. Hunter-Harvill was recently elected to the Board of Education for Detroit Public Schools Community District. Serving as Board Member, Dr. Hunter-Harvill is also Chair of the Academics/Curriculum Committee and Chief Consultant for Hunter-Harvill Educational Associates, Inc.
