At CMA, students have options. Beginning in 9th grade, students are exposed to college preparatory and career track programs–even those outside of the communication and media arts sectors. CMA offers a small, safe, competitive, high school experience that prepares students for higher learning. Students are required to have a college acceptance letter to graduate, and 95% of all CMA graduates are enrolled in college or trade schools. CMA has a 99% graduation rate and a 95% attendance rate. When students enter the school, they take on a professional demeanor and know their purpose is to learn.

Communication & Media Arts enjoys a partnership with Breithaupt and Randolph Career Technical Centers where our students have the opportunity to receive Career readiness and earn professional certification in the areas of:

Communication and Media Arts High School offers students a safe, positive, and caring “small” high school experience that prepares students for higher learning through a rigorous academic program. Our students excel in communication skills. We are a 21st century school that utilizes multi-media resources and technology to enhance student achievement. CMA, which has a 98% graduation rate, is a 21st century school with wireless technology, interactive whiteboards, and notebook computers in all classrooms, as well as Macintosh and PC computer labs. Other resources include a media center/library, career center, recording studio, writing center, and gymnasium.

Mission

Our mission is to provide an atmosphere, which promotes academic and creative achievement, as well as social and emotional growth through a positive and caring environment.

ROTC 2JROTC

The purpose of Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps is to instill in CMA students the value of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment.

Comprised solely of active duty Army retirees, the JROTC instructors at CMA serve as mentors to the outstanding young citizens of our school.

College Readiness

CMA offers ACT College prep classes. Students participate in one on one counseling conferences to review results from practice ACT tests. Students are therefore able to correlate their performance on college entrance exams with their level of readiness.

All students graduating from CMA must provide proof of there acceptance to a 2 year or 4 year college, or university.

Over 80% of CMA students go on to attend 4 year colleges and universities.  10% continue their studies at 2-year colleges 10% enter the workforce and/or the Armed forces.

College admission recruiters actively pursue CMA students to attend top ranked colleges and universities across the globe. CMA graduating classes have earned over $1 million dollars in scholarships to attend colleges.

Extra Curricular Activitiescheer team

CMA offers a wide variety of after school clubs. In addition there are many school wide activities, including: Spirit Week, Olympiad, Homecoming, Christmas Jubilee, Senior Lock-In, Sock-Hop dance, Senior Pinning/Breakfast, Halloween Dance, X-factor talent show, fashion show.

Compact School

College tuition assistance will be provided as an incentive for students to meet the Compact four year or two-year standards.

Student who successfully graduate with a 3.0 gpa and score a 21 or higher on the ACT qualify for full tuition scholarships to attend a 4 year college in Michigan.

Students who successfully graduate with a 2.0 gpa and score an 18 or higher on the ACT qualify for scholarships to attend a 2 year college, either Schoolcraft College or Wayne County Community College.

White, black and dark purple tops. All bottoms must be black.
