About Us

Promoting a school culture that values the individual

Cooke Elementary, which opened in 1920 and is located in the center of the beautiful Rosedale Park community, offers a tradition of academic achievement for students in Pre-K through 6th Grade.

Cooke strives to provide all of our students with the best possible education, as we maintain high expectations for students and staff. The Cooke curriculum incorporates a mixture of traditional instruction and Project-Based Learning tailored to meet the needs of future entrepreneurs, working class Americans and competitors in the Global Marketplace. We are fortunate the Cooke parents value education and help us to facilitate programs, which allow our children to prosper. As we move forward to face new challenges, we will maintain our mission of ensuring all students develop academically, socially, creatively and physically.

Our Vision

T. Dale Cooke Elementary is committed to providing a clean, safe and academically-charged environment for students to begin preparation for becoming a happy, successful, self-sufficient adult. Our vision is to establish Cooke School as a recognized highly-desired and respected source for educating well-rounded, socially-competent and educationally-proficient students.

Our Mission

Our school improvement goal is to increase academic achievement for all students in reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies. Our intent is to use what we know and learn about our students, individually and collectively, to provide the best possible programs for their individual and collective needs. The staff continuously seeks to align the curriculum and school service design with the standards and domains of the Michigan Department of Education and United States Federal government (NCLB) requirements.

What makes us unique

When students know that their school community believes unconditionally in their ability to achieve, they will achieve. When students know that their potential is perceived as infinite, they reach for the infinite. If our student culture reflects these ideas, then our mission will be accomplished and our vision realized. We are tenaciously committed to providing the academic and social climate for the vision to be a reality.

Community and parental involvement

One of our goals is to increase parental involvement and community support. We welcome students, parents and the community to come to Cooke in order to help sustain Cooke as a “Center of Excellence” for every child in our Rosedale Park neighborhood. An effective school community operates with the support from parents and the community.
