She has high academic expectations for her students. Mrs. Colquitt has a passion for education and strives daily to meet the needs of the “whole child.”

Our Mission

The mission of Dossin Elementary/Middle School is to develop a customer and data driven, student-centered learning environment in which students are motivated to become productive citizens and lifelong learners, equipped with skills to meet the needs of their next customer, higher education and/or the world of work.

The Name We Honor

Our school is named in honor of Ernest J. Dossin of Dossin Food Products which was established in 1898. The Dossin family is more widely known for their owner and sponsorship of the Gold Cup boat races between 1940-1956 in Michigan. After the Dossin family got out of racing, their admiration for the city of Detroit was expressed by the contribution that made the Dossin Great Lakes Museum on Belle Isle a reality.
