Fisher Magnet Lower Academy is a unique early elementary facility, the only one of its kind in DPS, and is renowned for its beautiful, spacious campus. It is a local choice for families with siblings serving students from PreK to Grade 4. We partner with the Detroit Recreation Department and Fisher Magnet Upper Academy (5th – 8th Grades), to offer a full service educational campus. Strong student-teacher-parent relationships focus on the individual needs of each child. Fisher Lower offers a variety of subjects including Art, Reading, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Vocal Music and Physical Education. Our classrooms include laptops, State-of-the-Art Smart Boards, projectors, document cameras, computers and tablets. We have enhanced our curriculum with The Flying Classroom supplemental S.T.E.M. program that was designed by Captain Barrington Irving, an African American and the youngest person to fly around the world in a self-built plane. Fisher Magnet Lower Academy is going Full Steam Ahead in all areas of our curriculum. Get on board for an engaging learning experience!
