Western International High School is the most culturally diverse comprehensive high school within the Detroit Public School System. As the highest enrollment comprehensive high school in the District, Western provides all students access to college and career focused pathways of study.
Our ninth graders enter the Ambassador Academy, where they learn self-management skills, study skills, and social skills to set a strong foundation for success throughout high school. Western also offers all general high school courses such as Biology, Chemistry, Calculus, English Literature, Psychology, U.S. and World History, Foreign Language, 7 Advanced Placement courses and more. This culturally diverse school setting offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities provided by several external partners including: buildOn, The Future Project, and Life Directions. Western offers the opportunity play a wide-range of sports for our young men and women which promote commitment, dedication, and the development of character.
